It finally feels like Spring has arrived. Lucy and I have been getting out much more and enjoying this warm weather. I took Lucy and Lando for a walk which could possibly be the first and last walk for the 3 of us!

It has been a busy past few weeks. We have had lots of visitors and loving it. Stephanie, Matt and Holden came to visit the last weekend of February. Holden is a year old and that totally opened my eyes up to what is to come with Lucy. I told them that in about 6 months I am going to worn out by the end of the day. Then the following weekend Jeff's parents came down for a visit. We had a great time visiting and playing with Lucy. Two days later my mom came for a couple of days. Since it was warm we stayed on the go.

Lucy is now rolling over but can't figure out how to get back to her belly. She is eating baby food like a big girl. Lucy gets very excited when it is time to eat solid foods. She loves applesauce, green beans, squash and sweet potatoes.

Hope you enjoy the new pictures. If you want to the see the picture bigger you can click on it. Next time I will make them bigger, just trying out something new.

Ha.Ha. Her feet don't even touch!

She likes to prop her foot up.

We made it through the fun holiday season with a 3 month old! We had Christmas this year in Durham and Cary. Alison was gracious enough to have the Barnwell's at her home Christmas day. Lucy received many wonderful gifts from her family and friends. The following weekend we all went to Lenoir for Nana B's (Jeff's grandmother) 100th birthday. They threw her a nice party with many of her friends and family in attendance.

Lucy went to the doctor January 21st. She is getting so big...weighing 10 lbs 13.5 oz. To us, she is a big girl but only in the 3rd percentile for her age. She is doing very well and really starting to get a little personality. She talks a lot, very interested in her hands, tries to reach items(TV, Lando and us) and give us some big smiles.

Now we are all just waiting for some warm weather. Lucy and I are so tired of this cold weather so that we can get out and do more.

There are a lot of pictures and hope you all enjoy!

It is the beginning of the "most wonderful time of the year"! Halloween and Thanksgiving have flown by and Christmas will be here before you know it. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving here with Crystal, Jason and Crystal's bestie Hannah. Ben was really cute with Lucy. He even wanted to share his monkeys her. He kept calling her "Bobby" which is how baby comes out.

My girlfriend Angela hosted a baby shower for me. We had a great time and Lucy got some wonderful gifts. Especially some really "cute" outfits!! (Thanks Terry for the "cute" game) There was a great turn-out and I really appreciated all of my wonderful friends taking the time to come.

As of December 1st I am officially a stay at home mom. I was a litte nervous about putting in my notice since I had been there for almost 10 years. But I am enjoying my time with Lucy. She has started smiling when I talk to her. It is incredible to see her developing. When we went to the doctor November 22nd for her 2 month check up she weighed in at 7 lbs 2 oz. Her pediatrican says that she is progressing right along and that besides her weight you would never know she was premature.

I have posted pictures from the shower, our Christmas picture and of course just a bunch of Miss Lucy. Enjoy

Hello all! I hope that everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall weather. It is a warm 70 degrees here.

We have had Lucy home for a month now and the time has flown by. When she was in the hospital we were hoping to have her home by Halloween. We got what we wanted and she slept right through the trick or treaters.

She has been busy with her grandparents. My mom(Nonna) came and stayed for a week and Jeff's parents(Nana and Paw-Paw) were here the next week. This past week was our first week just the two of us. She did great without all the guests, especially since she sleeps about 20 hours out of the day. I guess they weren't here long enough to spoil her since she is such an angel for me!! Lucy also had some friends stop by one Sunday. She really enjoyed their company because she stayed asleep the whole time they were here.

Answer to the last post...Jeff seems to be functioning just fine with interrupted sleep. On a good night she only wakes up once around 2 or 3. The not so good nights she is awake for about 4 hours. We are hoping that she get out of this phase real soon of waking up with stomach pains. It sure does make us better parents when we get more sleep!

Lucy had a doctors appointment yesterday for a weight check. My little Lucy is not so little anymore. She is up to 6lbs 2 oz. She is up a pound in 2 weeks. That goes to show that she really enjoys to eat(and she lets you know when it is time to eat, you better get her food ready asap). The doctor has released her from her lovely monitor. I am sure that she is glad to get the leads and belt off her body. But I am sure that Lando is happiest one the house that the ear piercing beeps are gone. The doctor thinks she is doing great and her next appointment will be her 2 month check up. I am sure she will leave a happy baby that day! Ha.

Lando is still going great with her. Usually when she starts crying he either leaves the room or puts his head under the bed at night. When she is in the swing or bouncy seat he likes to walk by and sniff her. Last night he got her pretty good and licked her face like she had food stuck in it. It did not seem to bother her because she didn't even flinch.

She slept through her first Halloween but hopefully she will wake up for some turkey with Ben for Thanksgiving .

Hope you enjoy the new pictures. And I promise Lando likes her despite his face in the pictures.

Jeff and I have had a fun week with Lucy since bringing her home. Sleep comes in intervals but totally worth it. We are starting to get her eating on somewhat of a schedule since they had her on demand eating at the hospital. When we went to the doctor on Friday she was up to 4lbs 10.5oz. They are very happy with her weight gain.

Lando is doing really great with her. If she is in the swing he likes to check on her and sniff around. The one thing that he doesn't like about her is her monitor. Whenever it goes off he tucks his tail and runs into another room. Now whenever he hears any sound that could be her monitor he freaks out (like the bottle warmer and any high pitch sound on tv). He did seem a little jealous of her today because she was laying on our bed and he isn't allowed on it. Our friend Mike came over to visit and bring some food. He got off the couch to touch Lucy's arm and Lando jumped off his bed and started growling at him. So that was all we needed to hear to know that he likes and is going to protective of his little sister.

Jeff goes back to work on Monday and my mom is coming to help me out. I will let you know how Jeff copes with working on no sleep.
