Christmas 2011

What a crazy Christmas this was. We went up to Durham Friday night to celebrate Christmas Eve with my family. Then we headed to Youngsville to celebrate Christmas Day with Jeff's family. That would have been great because we have done this the past 2 years but Lucy ended up sick. It started during the night Christmas Eve. Poor baby was running a fever and felt horrible. We did make it Jeff's family but didn't stay long since she felt so bad. We headed home and did Christmas morning the following day when Lucy got up(since she didn't know the difference this year). I love spending the holidays with our family but this will be the last one of us traveling. We want Lucy and soon-to-be-sibling to spend Christmas morning in their own home especially since she will really understand more next year. Hope you enjoy all these pictures from our crazy, sick Christmas.

"Christmas morning" in Wilmington
All Lucy wanted for Christmas was a Barbie Jeep and Santa delivered!
Trying out the jeep. She kept trying to make it go and was mad that the battery was out! Thank goodness Jeff left the battery out.
Christmas with the Barnwell's. Jeff's parents got her an easel which she LOVES!

Posing with Anna Grace and Paw-Paw
Poor baby felt horrible. We took her to the doctor when we got back home and it ended up she had an ear infection. This was her first one and I am praying her last. That was NO fun.
I absolutely love this picture of Jeff and Lucy. They are so stinkin cute
My wonderful parents
Since Jeff is so tall he gets a little cut off in most pictures. It's because everyone points the camera to Lucy and doesn't pay attention to him!
Our photographer didn't tell us the girls were taking up half of the guys heads! Ha...Oh well, at least we are all looking at the camera. And boy am I a big fatty. I feel like all I have done this pregnancy is eat and it really shows in my face. Oh well, I'll deal with that in a few weeks!
My beautiful sister, Kelly and wonderful brother, Brad
All of the grand kids!

Lucy and Lando waiting to open some presents. She had so much fun opening her gifts but it took her forever. She had to make sure each piece made it to the trash.
She got a Loving Family Dollhouse!
Minnie...our favorite!
Playing with the girls. Lucy helped Caroline clean up her game
Pretty Girl
They are so cute playing with Lucy. Of course Lando had to get in the action as well

Let Christmas Begin

We went to Durham on the 23rd to start our Christmas celebration. We drove to my parents and picked them up and headed to the mall for Lucy to see the singing bears and ride the train. I think her favorite thing ended up being the carousel. This was the first time I haven't ridden it with her and it was fun to watch her face each time she came around.

Riding the train

She got a stamp when she got off the carousel which was a big deal!
We found a second train while there and Daddy got to ride this one!

Cookies for Santa

I thought it would be fun to make Christmas cookies for Santa this year. Well, that turned out to be more work than I could have anticipated. Once the cookies cooled we frosted them and decorated with sprinkles. I think we ended up with more on the table than on our cookies. Or was it more in Lucy's mouth out of the shaker than on the cookies! She didn't care anything about eating the cookies, just the sprinkles!

Playing with Daddy

Lucy's new favorite thing is to help Jeff pick up Lando poop. I had to get a picture of them on the coldest day so far out playing and picking up poop!

She is too stinkin cute in her crazy hat
Taking a break from cleaning up the backyard.

Mustache for Kids

Last Friday night we went to Kefi's for the Mustache for Kids party. All of the guys that grow mustaches dress for the party. There were a couple of pilots, Indians and Matthew McConaughey's character from Dazed and Confused. It was hilarious seeing all these guys in costume with their month long mustaches. What a fun way to raise money for Make a Wish, JDRF, Hope for Helen and Ocean Cure. So far 165 guys raised $27,000.00.

The bears fan had to dress up as Mike Ditka!

They gave out a few different awards for the best mustache to the tiniest mustache. One of the awards was for best costume. The guy sitting at the table in his bathrobe took that award home. He really played the part well of a dead beat dad.

Kinsley and Lucy

A couple of weeks ago we had Kinsley over so Corey and Leah could go out to dinner with some friends. The girls had so much playing with each other. I love keeping Kinsley because she keeps Lucy entertained.

Eating some play cookies
We took them to Mayfaire to ride the polar express train and see Santa. Of course we get there and the train broke down. So we ended up walking around looking in the windows and the decorations.
They thought this reindeer was too funny with his fishing pole.
Wow, I don't know how people with twins get any good pictures. Getting one to smile and look at the camera is hard enough but two 2year old. Yikes! I like Lucy's face in this one. I have no idea what was going on.
Whenever Kinsley comes over she always wants to play with Lucy's lambie. This time she found "Lambie's little sister" as we call her and she had to go with Kinsley shopping.
The surfing reindeer!
When we got home and got their PJ's on they both had to sit in Jeff's lap and with the touchpad. It was so sweet. Kinsley loves her some Jeff!

Every year the second Sunday in December my mom's side of the family gets together for lunch. And I mean the whole family! This tradition has been going on since before I was born. We all know better than to miss going to the Wynne get together.

Lucy and Nonni cheesing it before lunch

Shonda was reading all the kids a Christmas story. Lucy was right in the middle of Carter, Morgan, Caroline and Walker.

Lucy loves playing with "big girls" Morgan and Caroline but Carter won her over that day. I told Misty I was going to bring Lucy to her house for a weekend stay and she wouldn't have to do a thing for Lucy because her boys would do it all! It was the sweetest thing.

Even Santa makes a visit to the Wynne gathering. Lucy was so excited to see him. She jumped right up in his lap. He gave her a monkey bookbag which she calls her HOHO bookbag.

Showing off her bookbag!

Giving Santa a hug for her present.

She had to get back in Santa's lap after everyone was done with their gifts.

By the way...so sorry for the repetition of Lucy's outfits. I want her to wear her Christmas outfits but we don't have but so many.
