Look what I can do

Sweet Baby. Her shirt is Lucy from the peanuts. Poor child is going to end up despising the peanuts.

A little Ham!!!

One night we were playing in Lucy's room and she thought it would be fun to climb in to her changing table. Now she typically pulls all the blankets, wash clothes and burp clothes out before she climbs in.

Lando's Doggie Door

What a silly girl...It did not take her long. Once she started crawling(sometime in August) she was working on the doggie door. She thought that flap was a lot of fun to push out. Before you knew it her hands were on the deck and she was working her way out. Poor little Lando is stuck these days either inside(restricted to the living room and Lucy's room) or being shut outside because of the piece that closes his door.

Lucy's 1st Birthday, Durham

On Sunday Sept 19th we had a party at my parents house for Lucy. It was her actual birthday. We had a great turn out with friends and family to celebrate this joyous occasion. Wow...what a difference a year makes. This time last year was a very stressful and scary time for all of us but we sure have come a long way. Miss Lucy is a fighter and a fiesty little girl(as they called her in the NICU).

Not exactly sure why she has this fury hat on on.

If I smile will they give me cake?

The lady who made Lucy's beautiful cake had extra and made this little cake. We were going to just give her the top layer off the cake but this worked better because Jeff and I got the top layer for ourselves! The cake was delicious. Two layers were strawberry flavor and one was white cake.
Not much left of the little cake

Someone is ready to open some presents. This rocking chair is a present from PawPaw and Nana. Lucy love to climb in the chair and just sit.

3 cousins-Ainsley, Caroline and Morgan
Yay for presents
We set up pictures of Jeff and I at 1. The majority of the guest thought she looked more like me.
The hand-me-down party hat from Morgan and Caroline. Somehow it has weathered the storms of 3 girls and 3 cakes.

Lucy's 1st Birthday, Wilmington

Lucy in her "Lucy" shirt before the party. Getting ready for the guest to arrive.

We had a great time cooking and hanging out with friends for the big day. As you can see Lucy really enjoyed eating her cupcake. She is going to be just her mom and dad with the biggest sweet tooth.
Yummy...I like this cake stuff!!

Looks like more on her face than in her mouth

Present time. Lucy did not care one bit about the presents. She just wanted the paper and bows.

I actually made the cupcakes and homemade icing.

Before the party Lucy hung out and ran errands with her Daddy with her borrowed birthday girl shirt on(thanks Madeline)

Isle of Palms

The last week of August we went on our yearly trip to the Isle of Palms. What a much better trip for me this year than last. I could walk to the beach without pain in my ankles. We rented a big ol house across the street from the beach with its own private pool. It was a great trip hanging out with Jeff's family and the girls playing together. I especially liked the pool. Everyday when Lucy napped I was sitting right beside the pool or floating on a raft.

Lucy's hair and the wind were not friends.
